Constructive Understanding of Intelligence through Soft Robotics

ヒトの身体は脳と外界をつなぐインタフェースですが，情報を伝達するだけでなく，柔らかい身体が外界と相互作用することによって，適応的（知能的）運動を生み出すために必要な情報を創り出します．
適応ロボティクス研究室では，このような知能的な運動が生み出される原理を，ロボットを作り，実験することで構成的に（作ってみて）理解することを目的としています．

The human body acts as an interface between the brain and the external world.
It not only transmits information, but also modulates it based on its own physical characteristics, playing an essential role in generating adaptive behavior.
In our lab, we aim to understand the principles behind intelligent (adaptive) behavior through a constructive approach—that is, by building robots and testing them in real-world experiments.
